Good value for money, very clean, high standards of service, good decor, good location, quiet. Would visit again.
Great location and comfortable
Hot weather, air conditioned or a fan should be made available
A lovely stay overall. The hotel has been sensitively updated and is of a high class without being stuffy or presumptious. The room was delightful, as was the bathroom. Lovely soft towels, tea and coffee making facilities and good furnishings. The food was very good indeed. We hadn't appreciated that our weekend package deal included a three course dinner on one night so that was a bonus ! The food was a definite cut above average.
We were a bit too hot in our bed and this could have been alleviated by the hotel providing low-tog duvets in summer. The duvet was very thick for the time of year.
The hotel was beautifully furnished and comfortable, the food was excellent and plentiful, the staff were helpful and very polite, only stayed 1 night but would cetainly stay there again and for a longer period and wouldent hesitate to recommend it to others.
The only things i can fault with the hotel is the lack of a lift especially if people cannot cope with the stairs and the lack of parking, we had 2 park in a public carpark and had to get up early to put money in meter, then wind blew ticket out of car so had to buy another ticket as lost the 1st.
staff were very freindly and attentive. The room was comfortable, especially the bed. The town was amazing and the countryside even better. Met some lovely local people. A lovely little bit of England. Strongly recommend. Just what we needed, thanks.
Hotel and staff was great would book again.
The only down side was a £40 bottle of red wine was added to our bill by mistake the problem was resolved with ease.
Fluffy towels, comfortable sheets, excellent furnishing. Prime location. Good food.
We had to wait 5-10 min to get seated for breakfast. We were offered a newspaper in the morning, however, we were not informed about an extra charge for it.
Excellent setting by the riverside. Tasty well presented food and a very generous breakfast
Artificial flowers in the bedroom
The whole experience, the location, the smiling welcoming reception staff, the breakfasts all served with a smile. The decor of the rooms and cleanliness of the bathroom, where the hotel is situated and the surrounding area and shops. Very comfortable and relaxing a lovely hotel to stay in and would do so again and recommend to friends.
All of the staff were very nice and helpfull .The breakfast was top notch and set you up for the day.We had oneevening meal which was very good, The cheeseboard was poor and very overpriced at £7.50 per person.
The cost of the cheeseboard at dinner. The carpeting to the stairs and landings look a bit tired.
My stay was very comfortable and the staff were very efficient and helpful.
Staff helpful and dinner excellent.
Service sadly slow, and main receptionist was quite 'short'.
Excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast. Clean and nicely decorated, clearly fairly recently renovated with good bathroom and DAB radio.
Bed was rather hard. TV. Channels on TV not as listed with advertised news channel not working. Walls very thin - woken up by occupants of next room returning in early hours talking loudly and turning up TV rather high.
Very good breakfast
My room was cramped and tired as was the bathroom. No wardrobe just a few pegs on the wall. The outside temperature was about 10 degrees centigrade yet there was no heating in the room and no hot water.
Very good restaurant. Friendly service.
Rooms in the attic very small and not soundproofed. A lot of stairs to climb.
